ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

My fill just got pushed back to the bloody middle of July. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! A month-long extension of bandster hell? Seriously? What are these people, DeathEaters? Are they Voldemort's minions??

Somehow, I was not told that I have to attend a "foreign banding seminar" before my first fill. When I just called to confirm my TUESDAY APPOINTMENT I was told, "Oh... You haven't been to our seminar... Our next one is July 16th and we can't schedule until then."

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Sheer torture, I tell you. I'm being punished. I'm having karmic retribution for my fairly common cases of road rage. I'm in purgatory to make up for insensitive comments to my crazy mother (she IS as nutty as a fruit bat, I assure you). I can't say "it's not fair" as I deserve worse, but... I NEED THAT FILL, DANG IT!

Well, since I have 18 days to sit here and twiddle my thumbs, apparently... I'm thinking I might try this. Anyone heard of it? The 5 Day Pouch Test

Gotta go feed my rugrats. I'll chatter with everyone later!

  2. I was reading that 5 Day pouch test and you do realize that it is for people who have had Gastric Bypass, not Lap Band? When they refer to the tool, they are referring to their new "pouch" stomach, not a band and although the diet seems like a shortened version of the post op diet, I don't see how this would make you feel any better about being in Bandster hell. You don't need to do something like this and denial will only make you potentially overeat in a moment of weakness or frustration. Instead of doing a crash diet like this, spend those 5 days eating well planned out thealthy meals that are band friendly. Yes, it sucks that your fill was postponed, but now is the time to heal and begin to alter old habits and develop new, healthier ones.

  3. Hi there! I found your blog through Kerri. I feel your pain, but I want to let you know that it will and does get SO MUCH better! It just takes time. Your band will work - right now it's not adjusted - it's just sitting there. Once you start getting fills, you'll notice a big difference. I know it's frustrating having a high dollar tool sitting there waiting to be turned on...but trust me - no matter the price, no matter how long it takes...it WILL BE WORTH it once it's working! Promise.

  4. I hope the time passes quickly for you. I can feel your pain as I was had a 2 month plateus shortly after surgery. The best thing is try not to gain anything. I know it is frustrating but the band will work. You might still need a coupla fills to get you to that wonderful sweet spot. I like Steph's advice to just try to eat healthy (ie few chips, chocolate...) and start trying some new recipes. And maybe work in a few walks. It will all fall into place.

  5. That is such a dissappointment! Just remember, a month is nothing compared to the rest of your life, you will get a fill and everything will come together, I promise!!

  7. Yikes! That blows! What is a "foreign banding seminar", and why would you have to attend something like that before your fill? seems like you would have had to attend any and all informational/required seminars prior to the surgery. So sorry about that. Be strong, be brave... you can do it!!!

  8. Hi Liss...yeah that totally sucks that you have to wait for a fill..I know the feeling. I have done the 5 day pouch test myself and yes it did work for me. I regained my "tightness" until my fill. for me it was a little tough though after coming from eating regular food then going back to mushies and liquids and such...but it wont hurt to try it! good luck!
